EHFA is very pleased to announce that it is one of the eight Associate Partners of the “MOVE” project, which is being funded by the EU Commission’s Executive Agency for Health and Consumers and run by the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA). Building on the strategic alliances of leading actors in the area of health-enhancing physical activity and the outcome of EHFA’s important project in this area of activity “Becoming the Hub”, the “MOVE” project will focus on the promotion of physical activity to socio-economically underprivileged areas with a focus on disadvantaged groups such as youth, ethnic minorities and immigrants, women and girls, and seniors. Herman Rutgers, EHFA’s Executive Director said “This project underpins the developing role of the fitness sector in promoting the benefits and opportunities for people from all ages and backgrounds to take regular exercise. Our Standards Council is already developing specific standards for the further training and qualifications for exercise professionals all across Europe to be able to work with children/adolescents and for older populations which demonstrates our commitment to our mission of MORE PEOPLE, MORE ACTIVE, MORE OFTEN.” The project runs until February 2014 and further details are available at www.ehfa.eu
