EFAA Training is the national coördinator of the NASM PT course (National Academy of Sports Medicine) in the Netherlands.
After completing this course succesfully, you will receive the European or the US recognized NASM personal trainer diploma.

Optimal Performance Training (OPT)
In this course you will learn to work from an integrated training concept, which all training forms are part of a progressive system in an integrated manner. These training types are:
This system was developed by NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and is referred to as Optimum Performance Training (OPT). It is based on scientific guidelines and principles from kinematics. Each phase within the (OPT) model is structured in such a way that it provides each customer with a systematic structure with which to make progress towards each personal goal. The model also takes into account the specific personal needs.

In order to participate in this training, you must be in possession of a Fitness A or other relevant diploma showing that you have mastered the basic knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Training Theory. If you have any doubts about your prior education, you can always inquire at EFAA Training. You also need to be at least 18 years old to take the exams.

The training is concluded with two theoretical exams and one practical exam.
100 multiple choice questions (120 minutes): classroom online exam (own laptop). You can choose from the European recognized diploma, this exam is in Dutch. To obtain the US recognized diploma an English exam must be taken. The choice between the Dutch or English US recognized exam must be made known in advance.
Additional exam requirements apply for the European and US (NCCA) recognized exam. One of these is that for the NCCA exam only 1 exam attempt is offered, for the EU exam that is 3 attempts. You must also be in possession of a valid CPR (resuscitation) and AED certificate for the NCCA exam before the theory exam takes place. You also take the NCCA multiple choice test at a location in the Netherlands designated by NASM, this is outside EFAA courses.
Case (90 minutes): written classroom exam. You will receive data and test results from a fictitious person. With this data you need to draw up an individual and periodized training program that meets the guidelines of the OPT model.
This exam consists of giving a personal training in practice that complies with the set guidelines and the OPT methodology.
European or US recognized NASM diploma (EQF level 4, recognized for registration E-reps Europe Active).
Self-study estimated 96 hours Giving training / own skills minimum 30 hours.
The total study duration is approximately 6 months, with an estimated study load of 172 hours and can be divided as follows.

The regular lesson times are from 09:00 AM to 15:00 PM.Lesson days: 5 installments of € 360,- (excl. Exam costs)

If you pay in installments than two installments must be paid before the start of the course and the examination costs must be paid at the same time as the first installment payment. (other terms as agreed on invoice.)
