Speed and mobility (Speed, Agility and Quickness)
This system was developed by NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) and is referred to as Optimum Performance Training (OPT). It is based on scientific guidelines and principles from kinematics. Each phase within the (OPT) model is structured in such a way that it provides each customer with a systematic structure with which to make progress towards each personal goal. The model also takes into account the specific personal needs.

Flexibility and Core training

Resistance - (strength) and speed training (SAQ)

If you want to update your knowledge on Anatomy, Physiology and Exercise science, these are two options to study upfront:
The Basic Personal Fitness Trainer certification. If you want to combine the NASM CPT and the Basic Personal Fitness Trainer certification, we can offer you 125 euro reduction. To use this offer, you have to sign in for both programmes on the same day.
For the English /NCCA exam you must be in possession of a valid CPR (resuscitation) and AED certificate for the NCCA exam before the theory exam takes place. You also need to bring this with you during the online exam!

* The education at locations marked with an asterix is carried out by our educational partner Sport & People.
The training is concluded with two theoretical exams and one practical exam.
100 multiple choice questions (120 minutes): online exam (own laptop). You can choose to take the exam in Dutch or in English.
The Dutch exam is a European recognized diploma. With the Dutch exam you can register in the EREPS register (the European register). If you choose the English exam, this is the European ánd US-NCCA recognized exam.To obtain the US recognized diploma an English exam must be taken.
For the English / US exam, you also have the above, so you are also European certified, provided that case study and practical exam have been successfully completed, but you have an “extra” certification in America. You have then taken an exam according to the NCCA standard. There are additional exam requirements for the NCCA exam.
One of these is that for the English /NCCA exam only 1 exam attempt is offered (retest is possible for a fee), for the Dutch exam that is 3 attempts. You must also be in possession of a valid CPR (resuscitation) and AED certificate for the NCCA exam before the theory exam takes place. You also need to bring this with you during the online exam!
You also take the NCCA multiple choice test at a location in the Netherlands designated by NASM, not at your training location. This will therefore be on a different date than the exam of the case. You do make the case study on the agreed date and training location.
Case (90 minutes): written classroom exam. You will receive data and test results from a fictitious person. With this data you need to draw up an individual and periodized training program that meets the guidelines of the OPT model.
This exam consists of giving a personal training in practice that complies with the set guidelines and the OPT methodology.
