Approximately how long will this course take to complete?
There are 9 chapters in this course. Assuming it takes about 2 hours to fully digest each chapter, it could reasonably be finished in ~20 hours.
Chapter 2 details Scope of Practice and how our trainers can safely utilize this specialization within their businesses.
How much should a trainer charge for a stretching session?
Somewhere between the price of a personal training session and a professional massage therapist session. The reasoning for this is because partner-assisted stretching is a highly specialized skill and is more hands-on for the trainer compared to personal training.
What type of content is covered in the brand-new videos?
There are ~80 application videos within the course. These videos will expand upon the concept of the fascial net and stretch-specific assessments. The videos will also include training instruction and technique for partner-assisted stretching. They were filmed from multiple angles (profile, 45 degrees and overhead), helping the trainer understand how to correctly perform and assess each movement.
Where did the need for creating this course come from?
Flexibility and recovery are important aspects of a well-rounded fitness program. As stretching classes continue to become more popular and widely offered in the gym setting, our CPTs will benefit from adding this skill to their toolbelt. This will help them to book additional stretch-specific sessions with their personal training clients.
Can our AFAA/GFI students benefit from this course as well?
Absolutely. The concepts learned in this course can be applied to group sessions/classes in addition to 1-on-1 training.
There are no prerequisites for this course. Although the course is primarily intended for personal trainers, fitness coaches, massage therapists and other fitness/health professionals, it is not a requirement to take the course.
After the completion of the course, you will take an online final exam from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you prefer to take tests, that consists of 100 questions. Each question will be multiple-choice. The exam is timed and cannot exceed 90 minutes. To pass, you need a score of 70% or higher. Don’t fret though, if you score below that, you have up to 3 attempts to pass.
